Welcome to Roboticbell™

Thank you for choosing Roboticbell™, the world’s first automatic cloud-programmable IoT bell ringing system by V-ROBOTICS. This user manual will guide you through the setup, operation, and maintenance of your device to ensure optimal performance. Please read this manual carefully before use and keep it handy for future reference.


1. Safety Instructions

  • Ensure the device is placed on a stable, flat surface away from water or extreme heat.
  • Do not attempt to open the device casing—contact V-ROBOTICS support for repairs.
  • Use only the provided power adapter to avoid damage.
  • Keep the device out of reach of children when not in use.
  • Resetting to factory settings will erase all custom configurations—use the reset function only when necessary.

2. Device Overview

Roboticbell™ is an IoT-enabled bell ringing system designed for schools, factories, and other institutions. The front panel includes the following controls:

  • SB (Single Bell) Button: Triggers a single bell ring.
  • DB (Double Bell) Button: Triggers two consecutive bell rings.
  • LB (Long Bell) Button: Triggers an extended bell ring.
  • FN (Function) Button: Accesses advanced settings and modes.
  • Volume Control Knob: Adjusts the volume of the internal 3W speaker.
  • LCD Screen: Displays time, IP address, and schedule information.
  • Power Switch: Located on the left bottom side—turns the device on/off.
  • Manual Switch: Located on the bottom right side - Manually turns on a connected external amplifier for P.A. system announcements.




3. Getting Started

Unboxing and Setup

  1. Remove Roboticbell™ from the packaging and place it in the desired location.
  2. Connect the power adapter to the device and plug it into a wall outlet.
  3. Switch on the power. The LCD will display the current time and status.
  4. Adjust the Volume Control Knob to set the initial speaker volume.
  5. Ensure Manual button is turned off.

Initial Configuration

  • The device comes with default Wi-Fi credentials: SSID: parrot and Password: password.
  • Follow the steps in to connect and update these settings.

4. Manual Operation

Use the manual bell ringing buttons for immediate action:

  • Press SB: Activates a single short bell ring.
  • Press DB: Activates two quick bell rings.
  • Press LB: Activates a prolonged bell ring.
  • Adjust Volume: Turn the Volume Control Knob clockwise to increase or counterclockwise to decrease the volume of the internal 3W speaker.
  • Use External Amplifier Switch:
    1. Flip the External Amplifier Switch to the "On" position to activate a connected external amplifier.
    2. Use a microphone (connected to the amplifier) to make manual announcements over the P.A. system.
    3. Turn the switch to "Off" immediately after use to conserve power and prevent damage.
  • Note: These buttons override any scheduled ringing temporarily.

5. Advanced Settings

Changing Schedule Mode

  • Steps:
    1. Press and hold the FN button for more than 5 seconds.
    2. This will toggle schedule
    3. Repeat until correct schedule is listed on the LCD

Hotspot Mode

  • Steps:
    1. Power off the device.
    2. Press and hold the FN button, then switch on the power.
    3. Hold FN for 5 seconds until the LCD displays “Hotspot Mode.”
    4. A new Wi-Fi hotspot will be generated, named with the device’s MAC ID string (e.g., “cc8da2e63354”).
    5. Connect to this hotspot using a mobile device or PC. (No password needed)
    6. Note the IP address displayed on the LCD (e.g., 192.168.1.1).

Device Settings Page

  • Steps:
    1. After connecting to the hotspot, open a web browser and type the IP address shown on the LCD.
    2. The device settings page will open, allowing you to:
      • Update the SSID and Password for Wi-Fi connectivity.
      • Set the device time by pressing the SET button below the time field (syncs with your mobile/PC time).
    3. Save changes will reconnect to the new Wi-Fi network.
  • Default WiFi Credentials: If you created a hotspot with SSID: parrot, Password: password, the device will be automatically connected to it by default. The date and time will be updated from a time server automatically each time connecting.
Reset to Factory Settings:
  1. In Hotspot mode, Press and hold both the LB and DB buttons simultaneously for 5 seconds.
  2. The LCD will flash, and the device will reset to factory settings (default SSID: parrot, Password: password).
  3. The device will restart automatically.
  • Caution: This will erase all custom schedules and settings. Back up data before resetting.

6. Schedule Management

Offline Schedule Editing

  • Steps:
    1. Connect a USB pendrive to the device.
    2. Access the device settings page via hotspot mode (see above).
    3. Edit the listed schedules directly on the page.
    4. Download updated schedules to the pendrive for offline use.
  • Note: Ensure the pendrive is formatted and compatible with the device (USB 2.0).

7. Troubleshooting

IssueSolution
Device won’t power onCheck the power adapter connection and outlet. Contact support if unresolved.
No sound from bellsAdjust the Volume Control Knob or check speaker settings via the app.
Hotspot not connectingVerify default credentials (parrot/password) and restart the device.
Schedules not syncingConfirm internet connection and try the Sync button again.
